Cat sitting, diving into poetry

I've been house/cat sitting for a friend the past week while he and his family travel Europe (jealous!); I'm enjoying a MUCH shorter commute to/from work, and the most comfortable couches and bed I've ever experienced anywhere. The cat, however, seems to be quite nocturnal and sits outside the bedroom door and meows incessantly as I'm trying to fall asleep; I'll sometimes have to get up and escort him to his food bowl, then watching him eat for a few minutes before returning to bed. That usually does the trick.

I also recently found out about an open mic poetry night at a local brewery; I'm not sure why exactly but I found myself getting into poetry recently as part of my increase in reading to help soothe anxiety; anyway, I went and shared two poems I wrote in the last month, which you can read here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1phzuQp3scWbUPzZPbbt1QJVesrOOH0tB?usp=sharing

I'm almost done with a third, which I'll share at the next open mic night at Benchtop Brewing in Manchester, just on the southside of RVA (6pm on the 23rd).
